About Mrs. HaleHi Future Student!
My name is Hanna Hale, and this is my second year as a Northview Academy Cougar! I graduated from King University with a Master's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English Literature, and I am currently in the process of earning a doctorate of Education! I am passionate about English for a number of reasons. First of all...I did not grow up speaking English! I was raised speaking German, and I am a dual citizen. When I first started public school, I had an incredibly hard time learning English, but I had phenomenal teachers who invested time and energy into my education, and it made all the difference in my life. Because of this, I understand students who do not enjoy ELA, and I hope to help them conquer the fears they may have about ELA. Secondly, I LOVE stories. As C.S. Lewis says, "We read to know that we are not alone." Through Literature we are connected to each other in a profound way. Stories help us empathize with cultures, peoples, and ideas that are different from our own, which ultimately helps us grow into amazing human beings. Finally, I just love education. What do I mean by that? I believe, as Nelson Mandela says, "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." Education is not just another thing to check off of the "To Do In My Life" list--I know it can profoundly change the way we think, act, and live. I am excited to go on this adventure with each of you, and I look forward to knowing you by name! Sincerely, Mrs. Hale |
